Few days after having my site layout changed, I had an interesting evening with a very close friend.
And as such, we decided to have an equally interesting meal :)
We headed down to the nearest shopping mall at that moment(IOI mall) and after some indecision, chose to dine at Sakae Sushi.
I haven't had an opportunity to taste Sakae stuffz, so i accepted the opportunity with open arms and gladly stalked into the Sakae Sushi restaurant.
Honestly, i never looked back.
First up, a point for all of you to note. When a restaurant promotes itself with a sushi in the name, you would expect their Sushi to be top notch. Not something you can find at supermarkets like Jusco or Carrefour and what not.
This is one of the few occasions, where i was proved to be right.
Sakae Sushi's Sushi, (what a mouthful...) proved to be fantastic. It was just the right mixture of rice to toppings ratio. (my only complaint was that they dun have "Sake" on the conveyor belt) The conveyor didn't have much choice as we were there pretty late.
But the double conveyor(1 for kids and 1 for adults) was a very novel addition to the usual single conveyor style. Also, the remaining Sushi on the belts were still tasty despite being the last few remaining.
Being a little sad that there were no Salmon Sushi on the belt i specifically ordered the Spicy Salmon Sushi.(as pictured on the green plate)
It was fantastic, freshly made Sushi seldom tasted so good. The flavour of the Salmon was distinct and the texture was succulent and fleshy:) delicious.
However, Sakae Sushi didn't really shine in the Donburi section. I made this order after contemplating between Salmon Don and Unagi + Tamago Don.
I must say that the Salmon was lovely, however the lack of sauce or Miso soup to go with the plain Sushi rice was honestly irritating at best. As the rice was rather glutinous and needed to be washed down ever so often. But to the bonus of the dish, the lemon complemented the dish very well :)
Now the last picture on today's post would be of my friend's dish. She ordered Ramen, which isn't usually my thing unless its served using fresh noodles instead of what tastes like Maggi mee Goreng(Instant noodles). however the soup in the Ramen noodles was a refreshing relief from the plain rice i had and i must say that the savoury flavour of the soup really did give bonus points to the evening's experience :)
Overall, I'd rate Sakae Sushi as Good food off the conveyor belt but could do better in the other departments. :) I'd love to go try them out when they have their student offers :) i hear its a BIG bargain.
Until the pt. 2 here's me signing out :) nights everyone.
PS:
So what do you guys think of my new layout?
Nice? not so? Looking forward to me changing it more often?
Please do comment in the comments section yeah :) thanks
