Gah what happens when you get a stream of sleepless nights? Really, i don't know.
So if any readers out there have ideas on how to cure sleepless nights, please do recommend me some :)
Anyway due to me being unable to sleep properly, I've decided to blog about the latest food joint that i've visited :)
*Yawn, and takes up a cuppa coke( wakey up sleepyhead... gotta finish that blogpost)*
So guys, erm.. i'm typing this half asleep as usual... so go easy on critique will ya?
Now let see..
The name of the restaurant I've visited was called the "PRADA cafe" , a very fashionable name if u ask me. And on first glance I had thought it to be a boutique/cafe ( i'm not too good with names ) so i avoided it for the best part of a year.
However, after consistent persuasion from a friend of mine that their "cheese baked rice" was awesome, i decided to try it out for myself :)
So i went over to Bandar Puteri Puchong the day after my pre B'day celebration to have dinner at this "PRADA" cafe, and much to my surprise it wasn't crowded though it resembled a club more than a cafe. (sorry guys, was with my parents and we didn't bring the camera....)
I had been informed beforehand that the "cheese baked rice" was one of the best in town, so when the chef 'Chris' came along i ordered "Pork Cheese Baked Rice" without hesitation.
My family however, really couldn't decide amongst the dishes availible and they ended up with a special recommendation from Chef Chris.
Also we ordered a round of non alcoholic drinks, which to be honest were fantastic. If you can take the sweetness, dad complained that it was much too sweet for his tastes. When the food arrived, the Chef's special "Pork Curry with Rice" was first to be served; and my was i in or a surprise. Succulent pork bits, fried lightly in thick curry sauce, the smell of which raced through my senses and made me drool unconsciously.( was really hungry at that time...)
Its flavor well maintained by the slight sauteeing and was enhanced by the savoury spicyness of the curry flavours. It was certainly an exhilirating dish, and left us wanting for more :)
It was quickly followed by the famed "Cheese Baked Rice", only after it was served that i was informed the "Cheese Baked Rice" was prepared by another chef. (i did not get his name)
When the cheese baked rice hit the table, it was immediately obvious why i was recommended to have this dish here. The gently wafting smells of the cheese perfectly camouflaged the flavours of the fried rice and pork slices underneath. Making it a surprise just to prick open the cheese layer.
I would describe the smells from the fried rice inside to be "GUSHING" out of the bowl, surrounding us with an aroma that screamed "EAT ME!!!!". The dish never made it past the 6 minute mark, as it was quickly consumed by everyone on the table. The hot rice complimented by the flavors of the cheese, only had 1 flaw that made me judge it as good but not fabulous. There was practically no cheese beneath the first layer. Although i may complain about this flaw, i note also that it is not an imminent flaw and to achieve full cheese flavours in the rice itself takes a maestro :)
There were also 2 other dishes we ordered that didn't manage to make the cut, the Spaghetti Carbonara we had was a slight letdown as the flavours did not get their chance to shine.
And the Chicken chop that was ordered... well.. "PRADA" is known for their SMALL servings.. I repeat.. SMALL servings...
the size of the chicken chop would probably only fit a kid's meal.
Overall, it was a decent experience and i would definitely recommend the cheese baked rice and chef Chris's special orders for anyone visiting their restaurant.
Lastly i'll leave u their bblog so u can view their pictures :)
